There are different ways of transportation from the airport to the city. There are city buses available, and depending on demand, a taxi can be called for between 10-15 euros. You could also opt for a service called Faro airport transfers at an affordable rate.
Faro is a popular tourist destination for the enthusiasts of the sun and the seaside parties. While there are number of hotels and short-term apartment rentals available in Faro, the locals are very friendly and open their homes if there are no rooms available. Although Hotel Eva, Pensao Tivoli and Residencial Dandy, which are close to the city center, are expensive due to their location, there are alternatives such as the lower cost Faro Lounge Guesthouse and Low Cost Inn in the center.
Buses with number 14 and 16 provide access to the city center. Tickets can be purchased from the driver during the journey. Although you can rent a car, it is not really advised due to parking space problems. The problem of parking the car is quite common in Faro. Park areas are mostly located near restaurants and shopping centers, but there is a large and free parking area beside the shipyard. We should also mention that walking around the city is quite enjoyable and the places to visit are close to each other.
Faro’s nightlife is a reflection of Portugal’s fascinating heritage with its seductive restaurants, lively bars, traditional entertainments and modern voices. In warm summer nights Faro streets are revived with young people’s laughter and music.
